• TheCodeDiff has no accounts and does not collect analytics.
• The app connects to the internet for git operations, AI reviews you start, updates, and licensing.
• Below is what we keep and why.

What the app sends, and when

• Git operations. Fetch, pull, and push go to the remotes you configured.
• AI reviews. When you run a review, content from the repository is sent from your machine directly to the AI provider you configured, using your own API key and under that provider’s terms. This can include file content beyond the changes you selected. The app tells you which mode is in use before each review and you can restrict it to the diff. Nothing passes through our servers. Do not review repositories you are not permitted to share with that provider.
• Updates and licensing. The app checks our servers for updates and license validity, about once a week, and for a subscription also the day after the paid period ends.

What stays on your machine

Your settings, your repositories, and your review history stay local. AI provider keys are stored in your operating system's secure keychain.

Purchases

Payments are handled by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, LLC, which processes your payment details under its own privacy policy. We keep the name and email from your purchase to issue your license and support you. For a Pro subscription we also hold, with your license record, the subscription's status and the date it is paid to, as reported by Lemon Squeezy, so the app can tell whether Pro is currently paid for.

The data controller is Bagheri Software (org. no. 938 052 077), Norway. For any privacy question, or to ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or its deletion, write to support@thecodediff.com. Your rights under Norwegian and EU data protection law, including the right to raise a matter with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, are unaffected.
